CommentQuotes:
”To be in this world is one thing. To appreciate it is another.”
Michael Hoban, the founder and designer of North Beach Leather, was one of the first designers in the 1960s to introduce counterculture leather clothing and designer leather jackets to Hollywood’s celebrities.
This visionary designer not only changed the course of fashion history by inventing elaborate concepts to shape into leather, he also promoted the American leather industry and was significant in encouraging improved methods of manufacture to produce better quality leather in a broad range of colours ~ while continuing to search for ecologically sound ways of refining the raw material to make leather a mainstream fabric within the garment industry.
Hoban's vintage pieces have now become very rare to find and are extremely sought after, and just like they were when they were first created, they are still worn and adored by celebrities, rock stars and supermodels to this day...

Our doors officially opened in 2017 but Archives started long before in the imagination of owner Alicia Rosato. Archives was built on the foundation to stay pure with your ideas and live up to the celebration that fashion is. Although Alicia studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology her real knowledge comes from the cinema, fashion shows, travel, people and their personalities. She has been archiving one of a kind pieces for over 10 years and has a collection that your eyes need to see. Alicia has worked with many independent artists to help fulfill their ideas as well as produced/styled fashion shows in New York City.
Her talent lies in painting a picture while using her wardrobe as the brush. She has an eye for color and it shows as soon as you step into her store- your eyes are open with vibrancy. She believes because of her Italian background, good taste runs in her blood. For half her twenties, Alicia worked for lingerie pioneer Agent Provocateur which also heavily influenced her sultry and bold aesthetic. Her style is a mixture of vintage and contemporary- respecting the past but also looking towards the future.
